Embarking on the path to becoming a licensed real estate agent is an exhilarating journey filled with anticipation and, admittedly, a touch of nervousness. August 2, 2023, marked a significant milestone in my career as I took the real estate exam at Somerset Community College. The familiar halls of academia were now the stage for a pivotal moment that would shape my future in the world of real estate.
As I entered the Somerset Community College campus on that sunny morning, a mixture of excitement and apprehension filled the air. It had been years since I faced a formal test of this magnitude, reminiscent of my college days. The challenge ahead was not lost on me, but it was a challenge I was ready to embrace.
That morning, I found myself mentally replaying all the information I had absorbed up to that crucial point. Over the past six months, I dedicated my nights and weekends to completing the mandatory ninety-six hours of pre-license coursework. Acting on the wise counsel of my mentor, Tammy Smith, I enrolled in the classes offered by 2 My Classes LLC. This turned out to be excellent advice, as the seasoned instructor, Joyce Bea Sterling, crafted an exceptional curriculum that instilled in me a sense of confidence as I approached the impending exam.
Entering the examination room, I couldn't help but feel a surge of nervous energy. The weight of the moment dawned on me – this was the culmination of months of preparation and dedication. The hushed whispers and focused expressions of fellow test-takers underscored the significance of the occasion.
The real estate exam proved to be a challenging yet rewarding experience. Navigating through questions that tested my knowledge of real estate laws, ethical practices, and industry intricacies, I drew upon the lessons learned during my preparatory journey. Each question was a stepping stone, bringing me closer to my goal of becoming a licensed real estate agent. My anxiety grew as I approached the last few questions.
With only one other exam taker left in the room I was feeling the pressure of taking an exam that took me 165 minutes to complete. Now for the moment of truth, the scores flashed across the screen, 94% on the state portion and 96% on the national portion. Relief flooded my body as I looked at the scores. All the hard work for the past six months had paid off.
August 2, 2023, will forever be etched in my memory as the day I confronted my nerves and conquered the real estate exam. This milestone not only symbolized the end of one chapter but also marked the beginning of an exciting venture into the dynamic world of real estate. As I left the examination room, I carried with me not only a sense of accomplishment but also the eagerness to embrace the challenges and triumphs that awaited in this new chapter of my professional journey.
